The demolition and reconstruction of Wancheng Bridge is an important controlling project in the Jingzhou section of the reconstruction and expansion project of State Highway 318. The girder erection of the bridge was wrapped up on December 18, marking the completion of the main works, laying a solid foundation for the right part at the next stage.

On the demolition and reconstruction site of Wancheng Bridge, a large girder-erecting machine was erecting the last two box girders. After the erection of 130 meters of continuous girders, China Railway 11 Bureau Group Co., Ltd. (CR11G) mobilized manpower and equipment for girder erection on November 30.

40 box girders needed to be erected, of which 4 are 40 meters in length and 156 tons in weight each; 36 are 30 meters in length and 89 tons in weight each. According to Ji Zhiyong, Chief Engineer of the First Division of Jingzhou Construction-Maintenance Integration Project, to minimize the impact of the epidemic and flood on the project, the project department has increased input in manpower, equipment and construction organization, and the project has come to a new node with the completion of girder erection.

The demolition and reconstruction site of Wancheng Bridge is an important controlling project in the Jingzhou section of the reconstruction and expansion project of State Highway 318. With a total investment of nearly 50 million yuan, the project is an important channel linking Jingzhou and Yichang. With a designed speed of 80km/h, in two-way four-lane design, the 447-meter bridge over the Juzhang River has 4 parts and 13 spans. The completion of the main works lays a solid foundation for the full opening of the Jingzhou section of the reconstruction and expansion project of State Highway 318, and provides favorable support for Jingzhou to improve its external traffic conditions.
